About Me.

Alright, I don’t particularly like talking about myself so I’ll keep this short and to the point. I’m Graeme. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland (UK). Living elsewhere since 2008 and constantly moving wherever life takes me. Passionate about writing first and foremost, critical thinking, video games, films, and a variety of other things I’ll occasionally talk about.

The pseudonym ‘oneofthem1s’ was inspired by the sheer number of aspiring writers or ‘bloggers’ that exist today, who all consider themselves somewhat important. When I first thought of setting this thing up as a bit of fun I naturally felt slightly overwhelmed by the idea of trying to stand out in this environment and saw myself in danger of becoming just another one of them.

Or rather, that’s the official story. Unofficially, I was a big fan of the TV show Lost during its run in my mid-to-late teens, and the concept of being ‘one of them’ (how the ‘others’ were referred to during its first/ second season) was something that just stuck with me.

Primarily of late I’ve used this blog for film reviews, though I write other articles on various topics from time to time. I like to go in-depth; I would say I’m as passionate about the importance of good critique and personal integrity as I am about the products themselves. The name of this blog, ‘Standard 10’, alludes to my typically rating films and/ or video games out of ten, and also the quality standard to which I try to maintain my own work.

Generally my rule is: I write about what I want, when I feel I have something to offer. It’s more a blog for talking about the things I’ve mentioned above, rather than anything overly personal.
